Let's Learn Effective Motivational Leadership

Motivational Leadership

Motivational LeadershipNothing is impossible unless you think feel it is. The difference between a loser and winner lies in their attitude towards their life and towards the goal which they were pursuing and their ability to motivate themselves in accomplishing the coveted goal. It is the lack of self-motivation in people which is a major cause of their failure.

A person may have all the important traits of a leader but if he is unable to motivate himself or others then it is very unlikely that he will be able to lead the team towards the final destination. To accomplish a goal we need others and these others will only be helpful if they are motivated enough to do the assigned task in an efficient manner. A leader should show extraordinary enthusiasm and commitment and should set an example for his subordinates.

His missions should be crystal clear, the steps required to achieve the mission should be properly laid down, the work should be properly delegated, and the expectations from his team members should be clearly communicated. It hard work to polish a diamond to perfection; infact this is also true in case of dealing with the people. Every individual is blessed with some great qualities and they also have something which most of us do not like. A leader knows this very well and he focuses only on those qualities of individuals that he requires; in fact sometimes he is ready to tolerate someone’s nuisance, if his priority is getting a certain work done.

One of biggest tragedy is that most of the individuals do not know what is bagged up in them; a leader delves deep into this unexplored area and inspires the individual to realize his true potential. Effective communication is not just enough to motivate an individual; an environment should be created wherein an individual is able to motivate himself.

A leader should first try to understand the person with whom he is dealing with; understanding his emotions, his likings and his dislikes, building a good rapport with him and above all giving a feeling that ‘I care for you’ helps a leader to establish a heart-to-heart relationship with the person. Once an emotional chord has been established it becomes a cakewalk for the leader to orient the individual in the direction he wants; the leader should always use the true potential of that individual as it would help in getting the work done with a much greater efficiency.
