As an effective leader you should be able to create an inspiring vision in your followers.

This establishes shared values and gives a specific direction to efforts and set stretch goals. An effective leader is creator and initiator of change. He manages the change very well. You should demonstrate confidence in the tasks undertaken by you. This helps to gain trust and respect from your followers. The trust so obtained, will be gained without risking your popularity. An effective leader is always enthusiastic about the task. This is needed to motivating and energizing the people. A positive environment is created by such inspiration and energy.

If the leader is not enthused about achieving the goal, how can he inspire his teammates to do the same? One of the important tasks of an effective leader is to empower the people around him. This empowerment induces a sense of responsibility between co-workers and boosts their level of confidence. He has to be open to new ideas and should be able to delegate authority. An effective leader has to have total faith in his co-workers’ creativity. Communication of an effective leader always has to be very open and honest. He has to set clear expectations and give clear guidelines to his subordinates.

He should always be open to suggestions and take others opinions into consideration without any bias. Such leaders should always welcome every suggestion with clear understanding and support if necessary. He should discuss new issues with his mates if at all a change of course is needed in their ongoing plans.

Effective leadership arises from team effort. The team approach facilitates co-operation between workers and involves each and every person in the team. An effective leader is one who has trust in his group and is open to rely on their judgment.

Leadership Style And The Future
When financial situations are differ, organizations tend to fall back on default leadership styles, drawing on old, autocratic and authoritarian methods to make hard decisions. One would think and ask himself or herself "what’s wrong with that?" … and Stephen Brookfield in Learning as a Way of Leading: Lessons from the Struggle for Social Justice (San Francisco: Jossey-Bass, 2009) have combined several stories from leaders of social justice movements and teased out the kinds of leadership that have been effective overtime.
